1957 Angelman Sea Witch 36' Ketch
The classic Hugh Angelman designed 'Sea Witch' 36’ ketch is much sought-after for blue water cruising. These yachts are highly regarded for their strength and sea kindliness.
Traditional lines with a rakish clipper bow and high swept bowsprit capture the spirit of the Clipper ships. Built in Denmark in 1957, of solid traditional shipwright construction in carvel planked African Mahogany, bronze fastened on sawn oak frames. Construction photos and a set of her lines plans are available.
Surprisingly roomy, her 5 berth two cabin interior makes her very liveable with her gloss white and warm, rich varnished Mahogany timbers and Teak & Holly cabin sole. She has a spacious galley with gas stove, micro wave, fridge, hot & cold pressure water plus a fully enclosed marine toilet.
Her varnished spruce spars are rigged with traditional deadeyes and lanyards. She is cutter headed ketch rigged with gaff mainsail and bermudan mizzen. She has an 8ft sailing dinghy and an inflatable tender.
Modern systems and electronics include GPS with Plotter, Radar and an extensive list of inventory. She is powered by a reliable Perkins 4-108 diesel engine giving 6.5 knots cruising speed.
"Sea Mist" has enjoyed a remarkable history; from her construction in Denmark, many years spent on the west coast USA and, more recently, here in Australia. She is reluctantly offered for sale as her owner has overseas commitments.
