1971 Luders 33 by Allied Yachts USA.
Lying : North Haven Sth Australia
Beautifully maintained and loved GRP production yacht with full keel, heavy cruising displacement and huge interior volume.
These boats have a "cult following" in the USA (Practical Sailor magazine), and are contemporaries and rivals to the Tartan 34 and Albergs.
One of the few (of the era) and earliest GRP boats to be tank tested, the boats offer seakindly and pleasant sail qualities, Bill Luders was famous for his many designs for the US Navy and US Coastguard as well as 12 metre yachts such as American Eagle.
This particular boat has been fortunate in having meticulous owners and good maintenance histories.
Re engined with a Yanmar 3YM30 engine (28HP) several years ago, she also features all the must haves of modern yachting/cruising : Boom bag/lazyjacks, dodger, bimini, autohelm, furling headsail., Northstar Explorer W320 wind, Navman Multi 3100 Sounder, Icom VHF radio, Axis sound system, carbo monoxide sensor and more.
