FURTHER REDUCED - The 36ft Farr 1104 is one of the legends of modern yacht design. Hugely successful in their early days as race winners from club level to blue water successes including a Sydney-Hobart and several Melbourne - Hobarts, they revolutionised the way we thought about lighter displacement yacht design. Fast and fun to sail in all weather, they also offer a lot of interior volume and many Farr 1104s have gone on to be successful cruising yachts too. This Compass Yachts 1976 Farr 1104 was built for a prominent West Australian yachtsman and was strengthened for the rigours of the Indian Ocean with additional frames in the forward sections. Later relocated to the east coast, she competed in the 50th Sydney Hobart and a number of local offshore races while in more recent times, she has been a succesful club racer and family cruiser.
Comfortably appointed, she features a roomy 8 berth interior including 2 double quarter berths, a removable saloon table, a galley with gas stove and oven, a good sized chart navigation table and a semi-enclosed toilet with sail stowage in the forepeak sail bins. Headroom is good throughout. She is powered by an upgraded Yanmar 3HM 27hp diesel with a Gori folding propeller. The simplicity of the fractional rig is one of the great features of these boats and the standing wire rigging was renewed in 2017. She has a good wardrobe of nine sails and electronics include GPS, log, speed, wind and depth and an autopilot.
With her roomy cockpit and ease of handling. The Farr 1104 is a great club racer and ideal for twilight or midweek social sailing while the spacious accommodation lends itself to cruising with the family. New rudder bearings fitted March 2019, ready to go!
