Launched in 1968 this lovely Bay and Coastal displacement cruiser has much to offer as a comfortable, enjoyable and easily handled family boat. Designed and built of Spotted Gum carvel planking by well-known Apollo Bay shipwright, William “Putty” Ferrier, she is both strong and exceptionally seaworthy. She has safely plied the waters of Port Phillip, Western Port, Bass Strait, Tasmania and NSW coasts for many years. Her draft of just 1.2m makes her an ideal choice for shallower waters such as the Gippsland Lakes.
Generous of beam and with a surprisingly roomy interior, she has a cleverly designed galley with a two-burner gas stove, a microwave oven and a 12v fridge. A separate head area has a marine toilet and a hot & cold shower. There is plenty of headroom throughout with a double berth plus a single berth in the main cabin while there are two single berths in the pilot house. She has plenty of storage in cupboards and lockers throughout.
Powered by a reliable, economical and regularly serviced 3LW 50HP Gardner diesel engine, she can cruise all day at 6-7 knots with her steering and range of electronics all conveniently located in her well protected pilot house. Electronics include HF and VHF radios, Log and Speedo, Depth Sounder and a Navman 5100 GPS navigation system.
A Muir electric windlass makes light work of anchoring while her inflatable 3-person dinghy with 3HP outboard allows for enjoyable trips ashore while cruising.
Always well maintained, just slipped and antifouled in August 2019, this lovely family cruiser is ready for you to enjoy.
