Magnetic Island Race Week is held on the beautiful waters surrounding the island and Townsville and after seven years of being held, it is well and truly on the must do list.
The regatta has a social calendar that typifies the relaxed attitude of the region, and a racing schedule that gives all types of yachts and crew a workout.
A lot of Jeanneau owners are heading to Magnetic Island for the regatta and two that had travelled quite a way made it onto the podium.
Third place in Division 1 of the Cruising Spinnaker was Melbourne based Jeanneau 53 Kate. Owner John Raff was extremely pleased with their racing in Queensland this season as their placing capped off another podium finish when they took a second place at the earlier Airlie Beach Race Week.
